World First Experience, combining ancient Polynesian wisdom with modern wellness philosophies.

For the first time, visitors to French Polynesia can connect with the authentic spirit of Tahiti, with a new wellness retreat unveiled this week. Called ‘Sacred Life’, the retreat is the latest development by Papeete based Tahiti Islands Travel. The weeklong experience enables curious travelers to connect to nature and to be truly embraced by Mana, the life force of Tahiti.

Departing April 30, 2022, this small group experience is designed by local Tahitian personalities: Merehani Parker of Tahiti Islands Travel and Rani Chavez a certified Satva instructor of Ipuāni Yoga & Lifestyle Tahiti. Ancient Polynesian customs and traditions will be explored over the course of the week. Traditional waterfall cleansing rituals and a Polynesian fire ceremony will be among the highlights, as well as yoga at sunrise and sunset under the wide Polynesian sky.

“As Tahitians we are fortunate to have a rich and vibrant culture handed down through the generations. This retreat is the first time that visitors will be able to gain access to some of the leading Tahitian cultural and spiritual experts. We wanted to create opportunities for unique experiences in places of deep cultural significance. Our aim is for each guest to connect to their sacredness within.” Says Parker.

Discover two of the less well-known gems of French Polynesia, the islands of Tahiti and Raiatea. Tahiti, known by the locals as the “Queen of the Islands.” Here, explore unique black sand beaches, the sacred Papenoo valley and the historic Tautira village. Travelers will also learn about local plants and traditional medicines, and their uses dating back centuries.

This retreat will also explore the island of Raiatea, famed as the cradle of Polynesian civilization. Experts will lead guests on a journey of a thousand years of history at the UNESCO world heritage site, Taputapuatea. Guests will also be amazed by a dazzling stargazing experience and for the more adventurous, a hike up Mount Temehani in search of the rare Tahitian Gardenia flower.

Available to book now for 6,600 EUR (approximately $7,500 USD) per guest, this retreat is commissionable to the travel trade. The price includes accommodation (single basis), transfers, domestic flights, most meals and all yoga, meditation and excursions. Open to travelers of all fitness levels, this is the perfect retreat for the traveler wanting to truly connect with the spirit of French Polynesia.
